  • 1:1 Life Size Reproduction Ratio
  • Silent Wave Motor (SWM)
  • Nano Crystal Coatings Min. Flare
  • Filter/attachment size - 62 mm
  • Optimized for edge-to-edge sharpness on both the Nikon FX-format (23.9 x 36mm) and DX-format image sensors
  • Provides continuous autofocus from infinity to life-size (1:1 reproduction ratio)
  • For extreme close-up photography, and suited for general imaging as well
  • Can focus at a distance of approximately 0.185m (.6 ft.) at its closest, and allows photographers to capture breathtaking close-up photography with reproduction ratios up to 1:1 (life-size)
  • Silent Wave Motor technology (SWM) - SWM provides fast, quiet and accurate autofocus performance
  • Nano Crystal Coat and Super Integrated Coating produce superior colour, while dramatically reducing ghosting and flare for superior image quality
  • An additional (Extra-low Dispersion) ED glass element minimizes chromatic aberration, allowing the lens to deliver stunning, high-contrast images while the use of two aspherical lenses help correct spherical aberration and coma, producing accurate image reproduction even at the widest aperture
  • Internal Focusing (IF) design - enhances AF performance, while also allowing photographers to manually focus quickly and smoothly; also eliminates rotation of the front lens element, making it more convenient to use rotating polarizing filters as well as the Nikon Wireless Close-up Speedlight System--A rounded nine-blade diaphragm opening allows out-of-focus background or foreground scene information to appear more natural

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome lens! I recommend this product for professional ,entry-level and entry-professional photographers. It is a high quality lens with no distortions and a great blur effect. I mostly used with a D5100 and D5300. This lens is one of my favourites. It definitely deserves 5 stars!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Lens for Reproducing Fine Art This Nikon micro lens is perfect for reproducing fine art work. The reproduction of the painting below was taken with a Nikon D800 camera body at an aperture of f/8, an ISO of 100, and Matrix Metering.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Probably the best Nikkor 60mm macro ever This is a very good lens length, it is very easy to hand hold and hand hold still. It is probably the best Nikkor macro of this range, I have owned the 55 mm 3.5 non-Ai, the 55mm 2.8 AIs and the 60mm 2.8 AF-d....all have been very good this one tops them. The only thing I would like to see is for this lens to have a collapsible lens hood, at 1:1 the current one can get in the way. All that said one thing few comment about is it's lack of distortion. This lens not only has horizontal and vertical lines without distortion, but the squares are square and the rounds are round. It is an excellent lens when perfect shapes are needed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best macro lens I've used "I personally feel that this is the best macro lens. Or I guess Micro lens as Nikon calls it. lol. The reason I love this lens is that it does more than just capture the inside of a frogs butt, it captures the fall off area surround the point of focus very beautifully. This lens adopts well to the D7000 series, as it acts close to a 100mm micro, but in a full frame camera such as the D800 it's just as amazing as the 105mm. The 105 I feel is a bit too close at times, so I always carry with me my 60mm, plus it's super light, and very durable. You'd be crazy to not consider this lens!"

Rated 5 out of 5 by from versatile and sharp This lens provides the versatility that I needed when traveling in Thailand, I shot scenery and portrait using this lens with very satisfying results. I recommend this lens when you are traveling light and want sharp quality for all conditions. Excellent in low light conditions, great depth of field.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent I have gotten some really excellent close-up shots with this lens. Amazing image quality. I've been using it for general photography as well and it works great. The only thing to note is that in order to get true 1:1 macro shots you will need to be within an inch of your subject. If you are hoping to get shots of insects that won't like that then you may want to consider a longer focal length.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful Clarity I bought this lens to add to my professional kit. I never thought I could hand hold a camera still enough for a macro shot but I was wrong. This is a fantastic lens that lives up to every expectation you can ever imagine you would need a macro lens for. Don't dither, buy it!
