Nice and portable"I bought one mainly for the portability aspect of it. As far as using it for evening/dusk and nighttime use, it's great. It gives off a very natural and soft light that looks great for portrait work either indoors or out.
My main con with it is that in brighter conditions, it is limited in it's use as the light is easily washed out by the natural lighting so you can barely even notice that it's on. Unless you have more than one of these (and positioned fairly close to someone) you would hardly notice it in brighter conditions as fill in. It can be done, but not without some very creative positioning of the light I think.
I do wish Westcott didn't price this so high though. It would be so much more popular with people to use if it wasn't so expensive as I'd easily buy a couple more if they were cheaper. I do understand that it's a unique product in that it's portable and no other light can do that without cords, etc. But other than those minor issues, it's a very competent lighting option for places where you can't have anything bulky or needs a extra power source to operate.
The main reason it gets 3 stars is because of the price. If it wasn't so expensive, I'd bump it up one star, but at the price, you might want to consider other Westcott lighting products if portability wasn't a must."
