Throughout the year, Henry's hosts a variety of events and seminars. These seminars are presented by members of the Henry's community and sales staff, and cover a wide range of topics such as how to use a video or still camera, using a flash, lighting techniques, lenses and general maintenance of your equipment. Nova Scotia Wildfire Relief Donations
Location: Henry's Halifax
Time: During regular store hours
Drop off non-perishable foods, toys, toiletries, and clothes at Henry's Halifax, to help support those in our community affected by the wildfire. Your generous donations will be delivered to the Black Point & Area Community Centre.
Sony Portrait Workshops

An exciting event led by Karine Riva, dedicated to helping you capture stunning portraits, guides you through the process of setting up and selecting the proper equipment. Whether you're a professional photographer or an enthusiastic amateur, this event is packed with valuable insights and practical tips to enhance your portrait photography skills.
Learn about the essential tools and accessories that can take your portrait photography to the next level, from choosing the right camera and lenses to understanding the benefits of tripods, reflectors, and more.
Karine is one of the newest members on the Sony Alpha team. She has over 7 years of photography experience. She started off primarily as a wedding photographer, but then expanded to live music and event photography where Karine became known for her black and white images. During this time, Karine has also worked on production sets as a Production Assistant and a Behind the Scenes photographer. She has worked for various artists, brands, and events; a few of which include Buffer Festival, HAchubby, Bees Knees, VELD Music Festival, Briony Douglas, and Juno Award winning artist HNTR. Karine enjoys a good creative challenge and likes to think outside of the box when it comes to the images she takes or clients she works with.

Film 101 Workshop

Elevate your Film Photography with our Free Workshop presented by our very own Aurora Robinson! This will be a one-hour workshop held on Sunday, June 4th 2023 from 11am-12pm. We will talk about how to make the most of your images taken on a disposable/reusable point & shoot film camera and then we will move into basics of working with manual/automatic Film SLR camera.
Each participant attending is also entitled to 1 free 8x10 print and 10% off accessories purchased after the workshop.

Complete Lighting and Shooting Workshop Event

This extensive hands-on learning and shooting experience is designed to take your studio photography to new creative heights. During this six-hour event, you will learn core lighting principles and work with professional studio lighting gear. This is a skills-transfer workshop with plenty of hands-on. You will learn everything needed to set up and use studio lighting for yourself. You will learn all about an array of light modifying tools that you can use to shape and control the light to suit your creative vision.
Father's Day Family & Maternity Portrait Photoshoot

Henry’s Newmarket wish all Father’s a Very Happy Father’s Day and in honor of that we invite you and your loved ones in for a free Family Portrait! This photoshoot will be scheduled and completed in short limited timeslots from 11am-4pm. The photos will be taken by our very own Aurora Robinson with the Nikon Z9 Camera. Each participant attending is also entitled to 1 free 8x10 print which can be used to print off your portrait and 10% off accessories purchased after the photoshoot.
