With no switches on the lens barrel, you have no chance of accidentally changing settings when you want to take the shot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superior sharpness "I have been looking to replace my 18-200mm AF-S Nikon VR DX 3.5-5.6 GII ED for a lens with a 300mm reach. Most reviews say that an extreme zoom will not deliver sharp images at 300mm but the Nikon 70-300 AF-P VR /4.5-6.3 G ED reviews promised superior quality and sharpness. Since I had already purchased the Nikon 24-70 2.8 lens I decided to trade in my 18-200 for this 70-300. WOW am I happy I did! The photos at 300mm are far sharper and cleaner than the 18-200 was at 200mm. I have done considerable shooting and comparing similar shots and the 70-300 wins every time wether it is portraits, landscapes, indoors, lighted buildings at 11pm, (all hand held) I am totally satisfied. My favorite (and only) camera store is Henry's in Kanata as they continue to provide excellent service and advice in a friendly manner."

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very sharp! Fast focus! I bought this lens and a D7500 about 2 weeks ago and have used it to shoot close ups of flowers at the RGB, birds and animals at the Toronto Zoo (both in doors and outside), boats and flying birds at Bronte Harbour, and street scenes in Port Credit. All hand held shots. Focusing is almost instantaneous and the images are amazingly sharp at every focal length from corner to corner! I am absolutely in love with both the camera and the lens. All of the staff at Henry’s in Burlington were very friendly, professional and helpful.

How would you quickly switch to manual focus with this lens?

Asked by: carson81
Hi carson81, This lens does not have a manual focus switch and would have to be enabled through a compatible camera.
