Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great tele lens but useless without tripod This is a great lens, at 70mm this lens is fast and sharp. However, if you are planning to use it at 300mm, get a tripod. You can spend a few bucks more for the VR version.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Impressive for its price I purchased this lens so that I don't have to carry my 80-200mm f2.8 ED lens when I am just enjoying personal time hiking/strolling through a path and might see a bird or something of interest to photograph. I had read may reviews of pros trying to justify why this is only a budget lens... well actually its results are very good when shooting in its sweet spot at around f8-f11 I love this lens and its always with me now.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Awesome Lens I got this lens in a kit, and I am LOVING it. It lets me get photos of all the wildlife that shows up in my backyard. The zooming is very smooth, and the auto focus is quick, as promised. The manual focus ring is large, and comfortable to use, photos are sharp, couldn't ask for much more. The only problem I have with this lens, is that if you don't have a tripod - or a REALLY steady grip - you're photos will turn out blurry if you are zoomed in all the way. Overall, an amazing product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Distante and safe I've been using this lens for about a month and a half now. I've been in a few zoos/rescue shelters taking pictures of wildlife, standing and while on a vehicle in motion. I couldn't be happier. The images are great, clear and sharp.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I'm not a pro. But, this lens has amazed me I took a few good pictures of wildlife in my first weekend of using it! Not a lot of experience yet but I'm excited about its potential
