The Rokinon 12mm f/2.0 NCS CS Lens is a prime wide-angle lens designed specifically for use with APS-C sized image sensors. Providing a 35mm-equivalent focal length of 18mm and a broad 98.9 degree angle of view, this lens is well-suited for architectural, interior, and landscape images. Its fast f/2.0 maximum aperture is further beneficial to working in low-light conditions.
Three extra-low dispersion elements and two aspherical elements have been incorporated into the optical design to minimize chromatic aberrations and distortion in order to produce sharper images. Additionally, a Nano Coating System (NCS) has been applied to the lens elements in order to reduce surface reflections and prevent lens flare and ghosting for improved light transmission and more contrast-rich imagery

An absolute must for astro photography"It is a completely manual lens. Focus and aperture can be only adjusted by the rings on the lens. No meta data either, except for those provided by the camera body. If this is going to be your very first manual lens, do not hesitate! It is a wide angle lens so it will focus correctly most of the times, even if you do not crunch the focus wheel too intensively. (which is quite smooth to do by the way) The in-camera features, focus peaking and manual focus assist (zooming in to see clearly if an area is in focus or not) will help to use the lens, as well. Excellent addition to the Sony a6000/6300 cameras. I shot breathtaking star photos and even caught the Northern Lights! It is lightweight, so if you bought a mirrorless camera to avoid a bulky DSLR, this lens will not crush your shoulders either. Although I bought this lens for astro photography, it doubles as a good landscape lens as well. I use my 10-18mm/F4 lens for landscapes most of the times, due to the convenience of auto focus, but if the 12mm Rokinon lense happens to be on the camera, I have no regrets using it, I jsut need to remind myself to focus, before hitting the shutter button."
