This doesn't actually monitor audio site says it does"Sound quality is fine for the price. No complaints there. But tl dr, the headphone jack is basically just there for reviewing audio once recorded (and that feature only works for sound that was recorded on a phone/tablet), and not for monitoring, which seriously limits how useful the product is.
I was surprised when the headphone jack wasn't producing any sound when trying to monitor the audio, (I assumed I had a defective copy) and decided to return it. The person I spoke to at Henry's when trying to return it then told me that it doesn't do real time monitoring (despite the manual, and Henry's website essentially saying that it does). According to this employee, the headphone jack is just for playback of previously recorded audio via a mobile device (not on a camera or external recorder). That kind of makes this unit useless - any cheap powered lav does the same thing. And if this is the case, there is no actual benefit of this version over the EZ (cheaper, mobile-only version) since the main feature doesn't work via camera or dedicated recorder.
I'm sending an email to the manufacturer to confirm this, and will update. For now, I wouldn't recommend this for anyone who wants to monitor audio, which is probably everyone who's considering this product."

A good little mic"You get what you pay for.
This is a good mic for my needs. The quality is far from professional, but it is all that I need for now.
It comes with several cords, depending on the recording device you use. I only use the one for DSLR/digital recorder, but if you use the wrong one, you don't get any sound.
I recommend this mic for students, or entry-level professionals (which is my situation). But don't expect this to me a mic that you'll use for years."
just bought the a.lav microphone...how do i charge it??? Salesperson made no mention of charging the mic, and as far as i can tell it doesnt come with a charger. Do I now have to purchase a charger? Wish I was made aware of this if so.

The charging capable should have been included. If there was not one in the box, please return the unit to the store and we can exchange it.
