Rated 5 out of 5 by from Greatest camera ever I absolutely love this camera. It is so clear and gets really nice pictures of my cat. My cat is a dark gray fat cat. But it gets all of his little stripes. Couldn't be any happier.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful Fun and Versatile Point and Shoot I purchased this P900 about 2 months ago from BB. I had been on a message board were someone mentioned the incredible zoom function. I started doing research as a great zoom has always been for me in my price range just to much money for me to purchase such a lens. My Canons have kept me happy but the gear you start ro aquire over the years gets cumbersome and heavy. My longest lens being only 300meters. I gave this camera five stars because for a point and shoot it does its job very well. Is it perfect, well lets say I havent attempted to walk on water with it yet. Need a wide angle no problem. How about a super optical zoom with a steady shot that lets you pull off great pictures without a mono or tri pod. Not a problem for the P900. Hook it to your smooth flowing head on your tri pod and get even closer when the digital zoom kicks in. This camera weighs a little less then my current canon DSL. Being a point and shoot there are lot less settings to fine tune for your current shooting conditions. But there are enough setting choices to pull off fine shots under many different conditions. To sum it up this camera is a blast. You can do so much with it. No lenses to drag around and 2 batteries normally cover all my picture and video. Takes great video and unlike my DSL there is no special setting on the selector knob. You can be fireing off some nice shots when a opportunity suddenly pops up that you would like to video. Just push the well placed button and your taping in seconds. The things i wish it had would be a raw setting and bumping up the MP count to 20 or so. I find myself when doing some editing always looking for the raw shot. That said what you see on the lcd is pretty much as good as it gets. Which is pretty darn good. Only real issue i have noticed is when I have my polariser lens on when I get to the end of the optical zoom. The digital zoom is unable to focus. I purchased a higher dollar one but no change. I plan on stepping up to one more to see if it helps..all in all a highly recomend this camera for functions and ease of use. This is my first Nikon product and I am quite pleased with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The perfect all around camera Even as a professional you need this camera ! There is nothing else like it. The features it has make it something between a wide angle camera and a 2000mm telescope (4000mm using Dynamic Fine Zoom) I love this camera...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Zoom I have used SLR's for years before buying this Coolpix P900 83X Zoom. This is the best camera I have ever used. I do nature photography and the zoom is remarkable. This camera has so many options, you can do anything you choose to do. I don't use an external flash and I'm amazed with the results. A wonderful camera. I made a good choice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Buy before the price goes up Sometimes it is difficult to interpret advertising and find the real information you need. My budget required I study the facts before buying a Nikon P900. Background: I was preparing for trip to the Grand Canyon and wanted the ability to zoom in on opportunities. If the P900 did as advertised, I could leave my other Nikon and lenses at home. Short Story: I bought one with a 30-day return policy. The camera arrived 4 days before the trip which gave me time to put it to the test for things I knew I wanted and to explore new camera options. Bottom Line: 1. The camera is way underpriced. 2. I’m sorry it is identified as a Coolpix. I don’t think of it as a glove compartment point and shoot camera. 3. I wish the lens could be removed and used on more sophisticated Nikon Camera bodies. If you are an Intermediate skilled photographer, this could become your primary camera. You will need a tripod for fully zoomed in shots. Without one it is hard to keep the shot you want on the monitor when fully zoomed. If you have children in youth sports, you will become the photographer all the other parents turn to. Have Fun!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great camera value for travel; disappointed (?) by limitations This is a great travel camera and a great general purpose camera. It's hard to imagine a better value for the cost. For land-based travel hauling my Nikon DSLRs, a case of lenses, and a box of "gizmos" isn't a problem. But for the inconvenience of air travel today, options are needed. After several years of using a P7700 that has most DSLR capabilities, but slower response, and disappointment that Nikon dropped its DL series, I bought the P900. It's flexibility and capabilities are probably beyond what most travelers need. As a D750 owner, I didn't expect that camera's features consolidated in the P900. After running it through its paces at home in reparation for a trip to Alaska, I am very pleased with the camera. A traveler cannot do better in the Nikon product line, unless you can spend lots of time setting up your shot and repeat your site visit if you don't like your photos. It takes awhile to get used to operations; I still have much to learn. But, flexibility is great.Videos are excellent. Look at the specs closely to see if they match your needs. Informed buyers won't be disappointed. Limitations: no RAW, no hot shoe, no audio mike input, -- None are a big deal for most travel photos and video,
