Rated 4 out of 5 by from From a Canon shooter Coming from Canon DSLR world, I'll go straight to the points. Below are my likes and dislikes over Canon DSLR: Likes: * 5-axis in-body image stabilization * Compact, light weight & solid * Low ISO options * Digital level gauge * Charge battery from camera * Peaking * WIFI/NFC Dislikes: * No silent shutter option(my biggest disappointment, I understand the technical difficulties behind but as a long time engineer, I know there must be a way). * Short battery life * Doesn't comes with battery charger * Sticky rubber eyecup attracts lints * Awkward movie button * Hard to reach front/back dials * No picture rating option I hope Sony really listens and improves the A7 lineup in next release.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best combination of features! After another camera company failed to honor a warranty, I moved to Sony about a year and a half ago. First with an NEX-6 and A6000, then a new A77ii. There are unique qualities on all three I like. The build of the NEX-6, speed of the A6000, and ability to add a battery grip to the A77ii. THEN, along comes this A7ii! It embodies all of those features of the other three that I love (and more!), and gives me full frame files. Rarely does a piece of kit like this come along. While I'll not likely let go of my other Sonys, this one could replace all three! Great jpgs, right out of the camera, wonderful build quality, and compatibility with so much of my existing lenses and accessories. Well done Sony!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor quality, shutter locks up in 2 weeks (new) In the middle of a photo shoot (~ 3 weeks after purchase), the shuttler locks up which renders this camera inoperable. We have no choice but to send this 3 week camera to a SONY authorized service centre for repair. After 2 1/2 months of wait, it finally returned. Upon inspection there were screwdriver scratch marks near the gourmet doors and some minor scratches on the LCD. The worst part is that one side/corner of the LCD does not properly fold back onto the camera thus it makes squeaking sound when it is lightly pressed. Where is the quality SONY was known for when I purchase my DSR-S70 camera? I hate to say it but this might be my last SONY camera.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Poor advertising for a good product This camera is advertised in the new products window as a 42MP camera, but when I went to the store online to buy it, there it says 24MP. Immediately I stop, because now I am not sure what I am buying. It's a habit, after all the great design, you market it so poor. That was the same stupidity when I bought my A7R, they had the same specifications on both the A7 and A7R, I had to call like three times to be sure exactly what I am buying. Maybe i'll have to call three times to verify the specs. again before I buy, Cannon or Nikon might come out with something similar and I go for that since there specs. are correct. Delays are not good in business.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Coming from Canon and getting disappointment I just bought a7 II (grade camera) and few lens plus the Flash HVLF60M but that flash dont work for that camera, yes you can use it but remote control is not working a tween them, the camera are not using this ir light on the flash for measurement distant, instead it use ir light on the camera. Why are Sony recommend this flash for this camera. and when are you coming with new update for this flash so it working 100% for this camera, and one more thing, you can not buy apps for this camera if you are outside US, WHY!!! it is not like you are using those apps outside this camera

Rated 5 out of 5 by from From A Canon 7D To This Sony A7ii Excellent Piece of hardware, got alot of question from pro photograher about the size and quality,im really satisfied with it,waiting for new lenses

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great, needs to work better with Canon lenses I am a professional cameraman and use the A7ii exclusively for video. I just got back from Africa where I used it for the first time. I had no problems with overheating and the ambiant temperature was 43 degres Celcius. The camera didn't turn on a couple of times, with only a partial screen appearing. I had to turn it off and on twice to get the camera to work again. I use Canon lenses with the Metabones adapter. The autofocus is very slow, unusable in video. Peaking does not work, nor does focus magnify. I am very happy with the image quality and colors. I wish all the features worked with Canon lenses as they are better quality than the ones available from Sony. Plus, I would hate to have to change them all! Stabilisation works well for hand-held shots, but it doesn't replace a steadycam device because although you can hold it static and have a reasonably stable image, you can't walk with it. Overall, a great camera and looking forward to any improvements!
