  • Filter Diameter: 95mm
  • Moisture-resistant
  • Zoom up to 600mm for images that soar:
  • Capture the power and beauty of wildlife, birds, travel destinations, and exciting sports action close-ups with this high-performance 150-600mm long-range zoom
  • VC (Vibration Compensation) and USD (Ultrasonic Silent Drive) enable you to shoot crisp images of fast-moving, distant subjects hand-held, while proprietary Tamron optical technology, including eBAND Coating, works to suppress flare and ghosting for impressively clear, vibrant images
  • Advanced Optical Technology:
  • Three LD (Low Dispersion) elements are effectively deployed to correct chromatic aberrations, a challenging problem when shooting at long distances and at long focal-length settings
  • Tamron's eBAND Coating and BBAR (Broad-Band Anti-Reflection) Coating help suppress flare and ghosting for class-leading image quality
  • VC (Vibration Compensation):
  • VC (Vibration Compensation) is Tamron's proprietary image stabilization system
  • Tamron's VC is a three-coil system, whereby three driving coils activate the shake-compensating VC lens group electromagnetically via three ceramic ball bearings
  • The VC lens elements are held in place by contact with the ceramic ball bearings, achieving smooth movement with little friction
  • And since the VC mechanism is moved in parallel using only the motorized control, the mechanical structure has been simplified, enabling the development of a more compact lens
  • USD (Ultrasonic Silent Drive):
  • The quiet high-torque USD motor ensures a speedy and accurate autofocus response
  • eBAND (Extended Bandwidth & Angular-Dependency) Coating:
  • This coating technique developed by Tamron deploys a nano-structured layer (1 nm = 1/1,000,000mm) of ultra-low refractive index, with dimensions smaller than the wavelengths of visible rays of light
  • This nano-structured layer coupled with the sophisticated multiple layer coatings underneath, yields significant anti-reflection properties, efficiently reducing undesired flare and ghosting to an absolute minimum to deliver sharp, crisp images
  • Compact and Stylish:
  • While covering a very wide range of focal lengths, this lens is remarkably compact and accepts 95mm filters
  • Its stylish design with signature Tamron tungsten silver finish and elegant brand ring incorporates a sturdy tripod mount to enhance both stability and ease of use
  • Moisture-resistant construction:
  • Helps prevent moisture from penetrating the lens

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Happy with this Lens "I?ve had this lens for a while now and I?m very, very happy with it. The autofocus works well, even in very cold weather. The 150-600 mm focal length gives excellent access to wildlife. Given the size and 2 kg weight, this is certainly a large lens, but I?ve carried it around on a sling strap for hours and was still able to take good photos. For long hikes, I?ve been carrying the Tamron separately in a Lowepro lens case inside a backpack. The controls are smooth and easy to use. The VC (image stability) is effective for handheld images. It allows much lower shutter speeds than would otherwise be possible. It is still better to use a tripod in low light situations. The VC must be turned off when the lens is on a tripod or image quality will suffer. The Tamron 150-600 mm can be used for landscapes and portraits, but the camera must be well back from the subject. I got some great portraits of my neighbour?s dog from 4 metres away. This was my first long lens and I went through a bit of a learning curve. It took some practice and study before I started getting images that matched the potential of my camera and lens. This lens, like all big zoom lenses, requires a lot of light for the best results. This can be a challenge on an overcast day. There are good videos on YouTube on wildlife photography that helped me get going."

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Grat Lens "I have only had this a few days but I've used it for bird shots and a moon shot. I've used it on my D7100 and a friends D800. Worked flawlessly on both. Fast focus, clear images, great Bokeh. I upgraded from the Nikon 55-300 which i loved but will now sit on the shelf. It is a big lens and I needed a new bag to carry it but what do you expect from a 600mm lens? It feels well balanced on the D7100 when you use the tripod mount/handle. Took a long time to get them in stock but worth the wait."
