Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 zoom lens "This Sigma is an astounding deal for the money. It's like having three or four primes on your camera at all times. It's extremely sharp, even in the corners, and has no major optical flaws to speak of. The build quality is fantastic, even the lens hood is solid. If I were to have any complaints, it would be that it's such a heavy lens, but an f/1.8 zoom is bound to be heavy. For myself, the image quality is worth it. Highly recommended."

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superb! "I bought this lens from Henry's on Bank Street in Ottawa yesterday. I did a lot of research before buying it. Everywhere the reviews are great. When back home I immediately calibrated this lens with the Sigma USB dock for my Nikon D500 camera. I am using a lens cal target mounted on a tripod, the calibration procedure is pretty simple, you do it at the widest aperture, here f/1.8 with four different focal distances 280_mm, 350_mm, 500_mm and 2000_mm, and for each focal distance you make your adjustments with four different apertures 18, 24, 28 and 35. It is accurate and very efficient. Tamron is using a similar system, and both Tamron and Sigma are making a huge difference here, because when you do such adjustments you make sure to have the very best all the time. Now, the users, we are in control where traditionally the professional photographers had to go to a specialist shop to have their lenses calibrated for a specific camera. It is normal for any professional to have these autofocus adjustments to be redone after a few years, because basically it is a mechanic and eventually it needs fine adjustments. Passed 20 to 24-megapixel cameras, most lenses bring the need to have it calibrated especially for it, it really worth it! That said, I calibrated the same way the Sigma 50 f/1.4 Art. The results are stunning with both the 50 and the 18-35. So, I did some tests yesterday night and this morning. The lens is a pure pleasure to use, it is very sharp at f/1.8, and extremely sharp at f/5.6. It is a Swiss knife! It can easily replace three to four very best prime lenses, but at a fraction of the cost. What else to say. Thanks to Meredith that concluded that sale with me. As usual, the service to the customer is always great at Henry's, this is why I keep buying there for over twelve years now."
