Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Optics and Sharp! "I was looking for a good zoom (70 - 200) lens and was looking at the Canon L series. The F4L was what I almost got, then, I looked at the Sigma 70-200 F2.8. It's a bit heavy than the F4L and a lot lower in cost than the F2.8L I had the opportunity to try this out at a wedding and the lens worked very well. I could hand hold the lens and take shots with my 5D. Downside - it's heavy.. and after a while I could feel it. A strap or tripod would have worked great. I am impressed with the quality of the lens and how it performed... I would recommend this lens."

Rated 5 out of 5 by from New favourite "I was reluctant to get this lens after having something of inconsistent service from my other Sigma (17-50), but I couldn't justify the cost of the Nikon equivalent and I wasn't so impressed with the reviews of slow focusing on the Tamron. Well, after two outings (urban exploration and portraits) and plenty of practice with doggie shots, I am absolutely delighted with the results. I'm sure this is even sharper than my Nikon primes and performs fantastically even at the extremes of both aperture and focal length. It is very heavy, but worth every ounce!"

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Keeps Up With Work "I am sure everyone knows that the nikon makes a very good 70-200, although in my case i find that this lens exceeded expectations. I am not a profesional photographer but I find myself in situations that require good equipment. With this lens I know that when a mistake is made it is not the camera or lenses fault. It is sharp, fast, and has a great stabilization system. The only problem I have with it is the weight, but there is not much you can do. I would recommend this to anyone who is not a full professional."

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No Regrets! This lens on my D7000 never fails to impress! I've tried the others and checked out reviews till my eyes bugged out. Photos utilising this lens are stunning and with the Sigma 2x converter is great for birding and wildlife! Thanks to the staff at Henry's Orleans for their expert help and advice!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Lens "I'm quite new to photography, I always found the lenses that I had been using to shoot hockey were alright, but were missing the speed to really capture it. This lens has been the answer and certainly made a huge difference. It has opened up my camera to so many more options to shooting in low light conditions. It has made it one step easier as I work my way to going to Manual from automatic."

Rated 5 out of 5 by from "Fast, Sharp, Worth it." "This lens is tack sharp and quick and could probably serve as a great all-around lens for many people. It works great in all light levels and on a tripod, it takes fantastic night shots. I can't imagine anyone finding fault with it other than its weight. A strap or tripod will save you from growing lopsided muscles on only one arm. ) If budgeting allows for only one lens, this one would make a great choice."
