Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very good lens "I bought this lens to go with my Canon T5i and I love it. This lens is very sharp and the auto focus is not too noisy. It takes great pictures but I use it mainly for videos. the 2.8 all range aperture is perfect for me. Before buying it I checked the other manufacturers and their lenses are usually almost twice the price. The image stabilizer works fine and I never had any problem withe the lens hood as some people say. The hood clicks in place very firmly and never falls off. Overall you can't go wrong with this lens. I can say that if one day I break it by accident I'll buy another one right away the same day.... yes, it,s that good."

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sigma 17-50mm "I have been browsing though camera lenses that would suit well with my Canon 70D. I have considered purchasing the full frame 24-70mm 2.8 by Canon and Tamron, but instead I decided to go with the Sigma 17-50mm 2.8 EX DC OS seeing that it's better suited with my asp-c camera. I love this lens, it feels well built, it's constant 2.8 aperture from 17mm-50mm and optical stabilization for shooting in low light scenario's is awesome. It produces sharp photos...At 2.8 I could notice it looking soft on the edges while looking closely in photoshop but I don't mind that at all. (The softness around the edges fades away at a lower aperture) At 17mm, it gives a wide enough field of view, not as wide as the Sigma 10-20mm obviously, but it works very well. I plan to use this as my everyday, walk around lens! It looks great on my 70D and I've seen in other reviews people were not impressed with its lens hood. The problem being, it isn't secured and can be loose...Well, I can tell you the copy I got doesn't have that problem. I can attach the hood and feel it secure itself with a snug fit. As for video's, the sound of the auto focus is slightly noticeable but not every lens is perfect. It really depends on how you choose to work around the problem that would best suit your needs. That being said, I would recommend this lens for anyone considering on purchasing it. Great lens and a more suitable replacement for the standard kit lens."

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extremely good lens "Are you looking for a fast constant aperture zoom lens with incredible sharpness, fast autofocus, image stabilization which is cheaper than it's competitors then this is the lens for you as it was for me. also get 10 year warranty, hood and nice pouch thrown into the deal. What more could you want?.... The build quality is really nice. The size is slightly smaller than Canons equivalent and im not sure the quality is any better but it is a load cheaper. The only slight draw back was that occasionally i noticed a small clunking sound when the camera was idling. Im assuming this is the OS system which is shutting down, im not sure though but it definitely doesn't affect image quality. I have just returned from shooting this evening straight into the sun to see how it faired with flair, and it held up great. CA is well controlled too. It's on my camera most of the time these days and i also own it's big brother the 70-200 OS which is fab too. Now go forth and spend that money you will not be sorry."

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A must. This focal range is an absolute must for anyone looking for a all around lens. The extra money for the optical stabilizer is a great asset for filming video with your DSLR or even for those on the move shots. According to the reviews and the MTF charts this lens is even sharper then the far more expensive Canon 17-55mm/F2.8 and I believe it after using it. It's being used on a canon 60D and came perfect out of the box.
