Rated 5 out of 5 by from Took a few test images "I just bought this lens yesterday and haven't been able to play with it much, but last night I took some pictures of a near full moon without a tripod. When I framed the moon in the lens I could see a lot of movement and shake since I did not support the camera. When I pressed the shutter release half way to focus the shake was reduced by quite a bit and the focusing was amazingly quiet and smooth. I was surprised at how well the image stabilization worked. I took a few pictures at full focal length then downloaded them to my computer. When I opened the images I was impressed. The image showed craters and colours I thought would not be possible without a tripod. FANTASTIC. Looking forward to trying this again tonight with a tripod."
