Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice price for a Zei$$ "I have been using this on the 24mp Nex-7 (with the LA-EA2 adapter)for 2 months now. Pros: Zeiss quality under $1200! 16-80 is better than 18-55. f4.5 @80mm is better than f5.6 @55mm.AF is as fast or faster than the native E-mount lenses (lens adapter adds a mirror for phase detect AF)Picture quality is stunning. Cons: Heavy compared to camera body. AF is noisy making this a poor choice for video. Lens will ""creep"" when pointed down. Not quite the same build quality of other Zeiss glass (I also have the 24f1.8z) In conclusion, I have been very happy with this lens for the price. It is my ""outdoor walking around lens"" which means I use it the most."

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 16-80 CZ very nice lens "It was a very nice lens used a few times outside the house and the details are very nice, sharp and clear. Beyond my few minutes of using and looking into it, the job is well done. the pluses+ really hard shell/body metal mount, rubber zoom and focusing ring, glass elements, from a wide angle to semi-telephoto, unlike the standard lens that comes with the body when purchasing, this lens is variable but from 3.5 to 4.5 in which when zooming to the subject it's just 1f stop deference, with the standard lens it has 2f stops when zoomed all the way. either the 18-55mm or the 18-70mm. that means it has a wider aperture when zoomed to the subject. the focusing ring doesn't move when focusing to the subject. the not so good- most reviews about this lens they said that the focus is slow and noisy. Because it's a glass lens it is heavy, it uses body motor, it doesn't have the SSM motor. cheapiest carl ziess lens I know. over all for me this lens is great and awesome until I get a better one again. ^.^ by what it is I am happy about it."
