Rated 5 out of 5 by from "I bought this lens in October of 2013 for my T2i and I love it. It's the only lens I have for my camera but I think it's worth the upgrade from the kit lens that comes with the T2i. Great all-round general purpose lens. It's fast, it's quite, the pictures are sharp, and the f/2.8 allows me to get low-light shots that I wouldn't attempt with another lens. Since it's not an L lens it doesn't come with a hood. The Canon one sells for $60-$75 which I think is over-priced. I got a generic one for about $10 dollars and it works just fine. When it goes on sale you can get it for a good price. I got mine from Henry's. Well worth the investment!"

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great lens "I have had this lens for more than three years and use it extensively. I bought it when I was looking to replace my kit lenses and had the typical struggle as to how to spend my money for the best value and suit my purposes. The good people at Henry's in Barrie offered up some alternatives but recommended this lens for my needs were. I can not fault this lens in any way, it is wide enough for most purposes on a crop camera, renders great color, sharpness, and the IS makes it great for low light. I bought it when it was much more expensive so at a sale price of $799 knowing what I know now I would snap it up in an instant. Probably will never get rid of it as long as I use a crop camera."

Rated 5 out of 5 by from "Best lens for APS-C camera. f2.8 + IS, super sharp - I would never sell it if I did not move to full frame.. Just hope canon would give the full frame camera something like this: a wide aperture 24-70 lens with IS.."
