Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Bargain "To say that I'm pleased would be putting it mildly. I went into Henry's expecting to buy the a57, but after comparing the two bodies, I went with the a65. It is a beautiful upgrade from my old Maxxum 7D that is firing black frames far too often lately. One of my major fears was that I would have to upgrade my computer to handle the large 24MP files. The second was that my old Minolta AF lenses that I used on my Maxxum 9 film camera, and my Maxxum 7D, would not keep up with the a65, and I would have to buy a bunch of lenses also. Well, to my surprise, the files processed on my computer in CS3 and Corel PSPPx4 without a hint of sluggishness. The older Minolta legacy lenses work just fine thank you very much. The detail is totally amazing, and the loveliness of the shots from my 100mm Varisoft portrait lens has to be seen. The Minolta 5600 HS flash works beautifully also. I am awaiting the hot shoe converter before I can hook it up to my studio lights, and do some portraits with it, as well as print out some 13 x 19 inch prints. Until then, I will hold off giving this body a full 5 stars. For an old die hard film guy, who retired from the pro wars after 22 years, I'm impressed with the build, quality and value of the a65. Having said all of that, the EVF is taking a little getting used to. I have also read of the pixel peepers who bemoan the high ISO noise of this camera and the a77. Well, I remember loading up ISO 3200 film, for the very purpose of acquiring the coarse grain that it produced in portraits etc. It did lend a certain creative aspect to an image, and I for one will shoot high ISO and not bother to get rid of the ""noise"" as it will likely be exactly what I am looking for in the image. But I'm proudly ""Old School"". What would I know eh? At $699.95, it's great value and a lot of camera."
