Good upgrade from the Mark II"Coming from the mark II, the camera is heavier. But has a much higher quality/better fitting feel. The lcd is excellent and extremely easy to clean. The viewfinder is big and bright. Some buttons have moved, but you will get use to it.
The weakest point of the mark II was autofocus. This is were this camera shines. The 61 point system, opens up a world of options. Along with various tracking modes, it is extremely accurate. Especially on erratic/fast moving subjects.
Just be prepared for a learning curve. As the options are vast.
This was a main point for me upgrading. I mainly shoot fast moving birds and action. It has not disappointed. I have now gotten shots, that would have been impossible before upgrading. Just excellent....
Image quality is very good. High iso is much more usable than the mark II. I'm picky with noise. Keeping iso levels 800 or under with the mark II. Now that number is and easy 2000 iso.
So overall I love the new features. If you need excellent autofocus, response and image quality look no further. An excellent well rounded camera!"
