Rated 5 out of 5 by from An amazing lens that exceeded my expectations "As a non-pro, I got this a few weeks ago mostly for lunar shots, using a tripod, but it's already proved itself as a great hand-held and continues to do so. The images and colour are amazing while the focus and zoom controls are very smooth and the motor is quiet. I've turned the OS off so I can't give an opinion about it. Being a full frame lens on my K-5 gives a great increase in focal length and the Sigma 2X tele-converter makes it much better, even at the cost of losing auto-focus. Due to its construction, Sigma says to use only their converter so be aware that using any other might not work. I considered the Sigma 50-500 but thought it too heavy and cumbersome to be my only lens, no matter how convenient. For the lower end, I also purchased a used Pentax 18-250 and the two lenses are a match made in heaven. Thank you Dan, at Henry's in Sudbury, for your recommendations."
