Featured Presenter - Sam Javanrouh from Daily Dose of Imagery

Sam Javanrouh

Sam Javanrouh is one of the most celebrated photobloggers worldwide. The son of a renowned Iranian Cinematographer, Sam left Tehran for Canada in 1999 to further his career. He started his photoblog 'Daily Dose of Imagery' (www.ddoi.ca) in 2003 posting a new photo everyday of his new home and his daily life. The site quickly gained media attention and has become one of the world's most popular photoblogs to visit.

'Daily Dose of Imagery' has won multiple international awards since its launch including Photobloggies' "Photoblog of the year" in 2005 and 2005 and Bloggies' "Best Photography of a weblog" in 2006. As a result, Sam's work has been featured in many local and international media including BBC, CBC Arts, Toronto Star, Globe and Mail, National Post and Spacing Magazine among others. Sam will inspire you to see the world around you in a new and facinating way.

Presenter - Dave Williams, M.D. from NASA

David Williams

In January 1995 Williams was selected to join the international class of NASA mission specialist astronaut candidates. In October 2001, he became an aquanaut through his participation in the joint NASA-NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) NEEMO 1 mission, a training exercise held in Aquarius, the world's only underwater research laboratory. During this seven-day exercise, Williams became the first Canadian to have lived and worked in space and in the ocean. Dave will present his photography from both space and under seas. Join him for this highly engaging photo tour.

Richard Martin

A long time contributor to Photo Life magazine, Richard pursues photography as a medium of visual expression. Well known for sharing his enthusiasm, creative vision and passion for the medium, Richard has been leading annual workshops on photography and visual design in his native Kingston, Ontario for fourteen years. He is best known for his unique vision of the natural world, with a personal style characterized by a strong sense of composition, colour and the use of light - combining an architectural love of geometry, pattern and texture with a painter's sensitivity to colour, light and composition.
