Secure Digital (SD) is flash memory that can be used in many portable devices, including digital cameras, handheld computers, PDAs, cellular phones, GPS and video gaming.
SDHC (Secure Digital High Capacity) is an extension of the SD standard, allowing for SD cards with greater than 2GB capacities. There are three speed classes which pertain to SDHC cards: Class 2 (2 MB/s), Class 4 (4 MB/s), and Class 6 (6 MB/s). While SDHC cards only work in devices that are SDHC compatible, SD cards will work in both SD and SDHC devices.
SD card capacities range from 8 MB to 4 GB. SDHC cards are available in 4 GB to 32 GB capacities.
SD Card speed is measured in the same way as that of CD-ROMs, but have much faster data transfer rates. Even basic SD cards can transfer data up to 6 times faster than a CD-ROM. Higher-end cards can have transfer rates such as 150x or higher.
Some digital cameras and video cameras require cards with a higher speed in order to capture video or rapid-succession still photos smoothly. Other devices, such as mobile phones, may have a maximum memory card capacity that they are capable of supporting.

Like the miniSD, the microSD is ideal for use in storing media-rich files such as music, videos, and photographs in compatible mobile phones.

Compact Flash (CF) is used in a large number of digital cameras and other mass storage devices. Many camera manufacturers use Compact Flash as the main form of storage for their higher-end and professional-level cameras, including Canon, Fuji, Nikon, Olympus, and Sony. Because of their rugged design, CF cards are capable of withstanding the type of wear-and-tear often associated with photographic experiences in the field.
There are two types of Compact Flash cards: Type I and Type II. The only difference between the two types is that Type I cards are 3.3mm thick and Type II cards are 5mm thick. Type I is the more widely used.
CF cards are available at Henry's in capacities from 2 GB to 16 GB.
