Henry's Events & In-store Seminars
Throughout the year, Henry's store locations play host to a variety of in-store seminars. These seminars are presented by members of the Henry's community and sales staff, and cover a wide range of topics such as how to use a video or still camera, using a flash, lighting techniques, lenses and general maintenance of your equipment. Each seminar runs approximately 20 to 30 minutes in length. Please check back frequently for news and information regarding in-store seminars taking place at a Henry's location near you!
Many of Henry's in-store seminars and events are brought to you in whole or
in part by Henry's Learning Lab. For information on Henry's Learning Lab and the workshops that are offered, please visit www.learninglab.ca.

Join us for an in-depth introduction to studio strobes. Your host and seminar leader is Ross Chevalier - The Photo Video Guy, a photographer for the last four decades with twenty years experience in instruction. We’ll start with the basic differences between hotshoe flash and studio strobes and move rapidly into understanding how to set up one, two and three strobe setups. We will cover light shaping tools as well as triggering and light control modes including radio, direct slave, manual exposure control and TTL. You will also learn the simplicity of mixing flash and ambient light through the use of a handheld light meter. We will be using Profoto flash equipment and modifiers exclusively in this seminar, all of which can be easily obtained from your local Henry’s via your sales representative.
Seating is limited to 20 attendees and pre-registration is required. Please register by email at firstname.lastname@example.org
Urban Street Photography with Graeme Roy
Date: Saturday, May 28th
Session Times: 11am and 2pm
Location: Henry's Ottawa - Bank Street
Shoot with Sony full-frame cameras and hit the streets for a photo walk! You don't have to own a Sony full-frame to take part, we'll have one for you to use if you need it. This is open to photographers owning all brands of cameras.
Are you using Instagram? Would you like to do a better job with your posts? Then this advanced workshop is for you. Sony is teaming up with Graeme Roy (@g_wah), who is one of the top photographers in the country and has a huge following on Instagram. If you follow the Instagram news feed you might have seen a feature on Graeme and his work, or maybe you saw the photo spread in McLean's Magazine featuring his work around Toronto. When Graeme's not drifting the streets of Toronto shooting with his phone, he works as the Director of News Photography for the Canadian Press.
The walk will take place rain or shine!
