Using flash has always been a necessary part of our photographic lives - especially when it comes to capturing candid, hand-held photos indoors. Many of us have been driven to take these photos simply out of necessity rather than as an opportunity to create truly memorable photos we can be proud of. If this sounds like you, if your flash pictures never look as good as your naturally lit outdoor pictures, then this workshop is for you. Change your outlook on flash photography as you discover the fundamental techniques and tools you can use right now that will transform the quality and feel of your flash photos - all without leaving your camera's automatic modes.
Any Level 100 Photo Course or Equivalent Knowledge
- When & why you should use flash - Flash Power & Range - Understanding TTL - Creating a soft and natural looking images - Getting rid of Red Eye - Balancing ambient light and flash light in auto mode
Owners of DSLR cameras & external TTL flash units who wish to learn how to use their flash to get the best possible results. Note: Users of Compact System cameras and Advanced Point & Shoot cameras that have a flash hot shoe are also welcome to attend this course.
- Your Camera - Charged battery (fully charge it before class) - Memory card - External, shoe-mounted TTL flash for your camera - Fully charged batteries for your flash
Before taking this class, I had no idea how to use the external flash I had bought, therefore I wasn't really using it. You learn all of the basics in this class and the hands-on exercises make you understand how light affects your shots. You also get to know different products like modifiers and gels and their impacts. It's a really good class if you want to step up your game! My dog thanks you Jim, I stopped blinding her with the flash and I get better results!
