No More Dark Photos!
Canon's new High Sensitivity System shines in low-light situations by enhancing image quality while helping to minimize noise. Whether it's twilight, indoors or shooting at a distance, you can get pictures that are sharp and clear. Just imagine the spectacular shots you can capture at the next big concert. By combining a powerful CMOS sensor and Canon's DIGIC 4 Image Processor, the HS System makes PowerShot cameras dramatically more sensitive than those with identical megapixel counts.
See the Difference
Enhanced Low Light gives you outstanding clarity and colour with less noise when the lights are low. Candlelight dinners, campfire sing-a-longs, evening BBQs - you can get the perfect shot without the need for a flash. By adjusting the ISO speed setting range, Enhanced Low Light gives you clear, steady shots even when lighting is not optimal.
The Secret to Canon's High Sensitivity System
How do we do it? The magic comes from combining our new 10 Megapixel back-illuminated CMOS sensor with our legendary DIGIC 4 processor. Working seamlessly together, these create the Canon High Sensitivity System that, when used with the f/2.0 lens, lets you take amazing low light photos without a flash. Increased sensitivity demands a higher ISO speed and the HS System helps deliver with a new maximum setting of ISO 3200. Blur and camera shake are also notably reduced for the ultimate in sharpness and clarity.
HS Megapixel Advantage
Canon's HS System provides dramatically greater sensitivity than your average camera with identical or greater megapixel counts. That means you don't need excessive megapixels to achieve spectacular images with minimal noise.
Canon's HS System allows photographers to capture quality photos even if there is not enough sufficient light, and can do so without the use of flash. Great shots in low-light - now that's a really bright idea.
The HS System is available in the following products:
