Highly Recommended Monopod.
May 06, 2013
I finally decided to buy this monopod last Friday for a Saturday afternoon-evening shoot, and I must say I am very impressed with it! I've used many different monopods before (last one we've used was the Manfrotto 790B model, and the legs were flimsy), this being the first one I've owned, and I have to say that this is definitely the "bang for your buck"! I fully agree with everything Jonathan had to say about this item, other than when he mentioned "it's not as light as the carbon fiber models". For a monopod that is built like a tank, I definitely consider this item as light even with my Canon 7D, shoe adapter, and Zoom H4n recorder sitting on top of it. I had to backorder the Manfrotto 234RC for this monopod, and the Manfrotto 678 folding base so I have a complete package. All in all, it's still much cheaper than the Manfrotto 561BHDV1 fluid monopod, but it would most likely produce the same quality of image or video. The only difference it makes is how you use it.
