When I bought my 6D a year and a half ago, it comes with the 24-105mm lens. For a while I was content with it. However there were times when I'm shooting my clients backyard projects, or interior and exterior scenes when I can get wide enough. So I did some research for weeks and came to the conclusion this lens is for me. I just bought it today and tested it out. The results are amazing. No longer that I have to stand back in a room to get the whole wall for instance with the 24-105mm, the 16-35mm gets it all. I was shooting buildings as well and was really impressed.
My next test is video. It has IS which is great, and with Canon 6D's awesome low light capabilities, I can't wait to see how video turns out.
I was contemplating going the upgrade to the 2.8 but I can't justify the dollars, and the new iii series has come out, maybe if I get a client that will fly me around the world, I just may buy it.
The Verdict: Get this lens, truly an upgrade to the 24-105mm if you do outdoors, landscapes and such.
