Bought this from the Henry's used selection. Arrived quickly. Works well with the Pentax 50-200mm kit lens as long as there is good daylight. Was able to take a passable handheld picture of Jupiter and its Galilean moons with a Pentax-A F2.8 135MM manual focus lens. Note: This teleconverter extends that particular lens to 189mm which is reported correctly in the EXIF file.
I have also paired it with the Pentax f1.8 50mm AF lens to gain a bit more reach on nature walks. I can see no practical loss of image quality and all data is reported correctly to the camera.
Expense is an issue, true, however quality appears not to be at all.

Report As Inappropriate
It's expensive, but an excellent product. It works with both lenses with their own focussing motors and the older screw mount lenses, making it useful for almost any older Pentax lens as well as the new ones. I've even used it with success with my old A-400 5.6. It's manual focus but ti makes full use of the lenses auto-aperture setting. If you've been putting off buying longer Pentax lenses because of the lack of an SDM functional AF converter, it's time to open up the bank vault. It works great with both the DA*300 , the FA* 60-250, with stellar results on both, and is also comparable with many of the older FA* lenses from Pentax's glory days. If I have one complaint, it would be the price... it is expensive. But if you own good quality glass it's worth it.
