  • Excellent, solid lens

  • January 06, 2017

I purchased this lens to replace a very old Nikon 24-120 D lens, and a Nikon 24-85 G lens. The quality build of the Sigma 25-105 Art lens is impressive. Everything is precisely constructed, with no lens give or creep. The images are very sharp and bright. The lens is very heavy to carry, but this is to be expected for an 82 mm front glass. I will use this as a walkabout lens, but the weight may become a problem after a while. I own quite a large number of lenses for both Nikon DX and FX bodies. This Sigma lens is certainly the highest quality of all in my stable of lenses.

  • Good Lens

I bought this lens after finally giving up on my Nikon 24-120 f4. It was soft at longer focal lengths. I am getting sharper results from 24 to 105 with my copy of the Sigma. Liking the colors more too. The lens seems to use more battery life but I carry 3 anyway. Zoom ring is better dampened as is the focus ring. I use this on a Nikon 810 and highly recommend it as a walkaround. Also, I am getting amazing sharpness with a tripod and electronic front curtain activated!

This is easily a 5 star lens. Tack sharp, excellent OS, focuses quickly, well balanced on my D810, nice contrast and performs well wide open at f4 and is stunning at 5.6 to 11. Well worth the money. Buy one before they're all gone.
