  • a different kind of XF lens

  • April 17, 2014

If you are expecting a compact, lightweight lens like the 35mm (or any of the original 3 lenses & 27mm), you have another thing coming. Like the 14mm and 56mm, this is an overbuilt substantial lens that has a beautiful 3D quality. If you like the 35mm view on a full frame, you will not be disappointed (albeit in a chunky-monkey kind of a body, i.e., bigger and heavier - 62mm filter).

  • Smooth bokeh

Fairly quick focus. Prime that gives very narrow depth of field at wide aperture, but lots of focus with higher f/stop. Manual focus chart. Solid construction gives camera some actual weight. Highly recommend. Great for full body portraits, or when close up. Also for street photography

  • Not a Very Sharp Lens

  • February 20, 2016

I'm not a big fan of this lens. It is an excellent low light performer but it doesn't see to be exceptionally sharp in my opinion which is what I'd expect from a prime lens, sharpness. I'm a long time Canon shooter and I'll admit that I don't know a lot about Fuji glass but I would say that this lens would be roughly equivalent to the Canon 10-22mm or the Fuji 16-50mm in terms of overall sharpness. Maybe I just got a bad copy but it going to go up on EBay in favor of the Fuji 35mm 2.0
