RX100m2 very useful and decent shots
August 29, 2013
I sold all my pro gear - D800 and 4 lenses, to buy a camera that I didnt feel I was going to be mugged for when I travelled. The constant stares from strangers eyeing my gear, and the kinks in my neck caused by carrying even just the body and one lense around all day just got to me after a while. I went into Henrys and was shown to this little gem right away. After doing some research I decided to purchase it. Slightly heavy for a camera of this size (because of the sturdy metal housing), yet able to put it right into my shorts pocket make it a worthwile purchase. Photos indoors are somewhat weak (just a bit), but outside in the sun they are pretty decent. After getting the steallar shots I was used to with the Nikon gear, I didnt set my sights too high with this little camera, but I would say the pictures are 1/2 as good as my d800 which isnt to darn bad actually... Look good on my computer screen, and very printable.... I am still getting used to it, and didnt care for it when I first purchased it, but the ease of use is becomming more and more apparent as I shoot with it. Some of the settings are still foreign to me, but I am certain I will master this little camera and get even better shots than I am getting now. I have to say, Im happy with it overall, and cant wait until I travel with it, and dont have 5 pounds hanging off my body somewhere as I am used to. Good value for under $1000.
