Introducing the Sony NEX-3NLB Interchangeable Lens Camera

Capture Life's Most Inspiring Moments

The Alpha NEX-3N delivers high-resolution photos and exquisite Full HD movies, all with excellent edge-to-edge sharpness. This feature-filled interchangeable-lens camera features a large APS-C size sensor, a built-in pop-up flash, 4 fps continuous shooting and much more. The 180° tiltable LCD makes self-portraits foolproof, and with Auto Object Framing, it's easy to produce beautifully balanced, perfectly framed shots of nearly any subject.

Large Sensor Delivers Gorgeous Images

The Sony NEX-3N features a large 16.1-megapixel Exmor HD APS-C sensor—the same sensor format typically found in full-size DSLR cameras. Combined with premium Sony CMOS technology, the NEX-3N achieves high resolution even in low-light. You'll achieve incredibly detailed photos and Full HD video (1080p) with incredible richness and clarity.

Smooth Zooming

The easily accessible zoom lever on the body of the camera allows for effortless one-handed operation and smooth zooming, bringing compact camera convenience to the realm of interchangeable-lens models.

Sony NEX-3NLB has a tiltable LCD screen.

Fun and Foolproof Self-portraits

Thanks to the NEX-3N's tiltable LCD screen, snapping self-portraits has never been easier. Or more successful. Since the LCD screen flips up a whole 180°, you can make sure you're perfectly positioned in the frame before pressing the shutter. Include your friends for a group shot, experiment with interesting angles or star in your own video with the NEX-3N.

Perfect Composition

Give your photos a professional look with the help of Auto Object Framing. Featuring advancements like exceptional two-person portrait capability along with Face Detection and Tracking Focus technology, Auto Object Framing turns ordinary photos into beautifully balanced compositions by automatically recognizing the scene then cropping accordingly. It's an effortless way to achieve perfectly framed photos every time.

Sony NEX-3NLB features a built-in Pop-up Flash

Powerful Pop-up Flash

The NEX-3N offers the convenience of a built-in flash right at your fingertips. Perfect when an extra burst of light is needed to nail the shot, the powerful pop-up flash illuminates the frame so no detail is left in the dark. Combined with high ISO sensitivity, you'll be able to shoot in nearly any setting.

Stunning Full HD Video

Record stunning, high-quality movies at Full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution in either 60i or 24p frames per second (records in 29-minute segments). Choose the AVCHD™ codec for exquisite Blu-ray Disc™ picture quality, or record in the PC-friendly MP4 format which lets you compress files for easy upload to sites like Facebook® and YouTube™.

  • Good little camera

  • March 25, 2014
  • By: DarwinIan

After using a DSLR with a big lens, this camera feels like you can lift it with a couple of fingers, which in fact you can. Weight (lack of it) is a definite plus. The camera has a "mode dial" (M-A-P-S-Auto), but it's a soft key, not a permanent dial. The all-in-one navigator/spinner takes the place of the usual half-dozen dials and wheels on a full-sized DSLR - which is appropriate if you want a small-body camera - but most of the DSLR functionality is there. Sony makes other E-mount lenses, and the E-mount specs are public (unlike Nikon or Canon) so there are several good third-party lenses available too. Not to mention adapters for using other brand lenses, though usually not with full automatic functionality. Even T-Mount! Say you want a small camera with lots of features and interchangeable lenses, and most of the functionality of a DSLR. Maybe you have a DSLR and you want a backup or a light-weight-travel camera. Or say you're just getting started but you don't want to be locked into the one-size-fits-all of a cheaper point-and-shoot. This would be a very good choice for anybody like that. If you beat your cameras up a lot or drop them from your waist, the metal-bodied NEX-5N is the next step up, and a very similar camera. But the NEX-3 seems just about right for me. Recommended.

I think this camera is a great buy - point and shoot form factor with DSLR quality. Pros: - Zoom control a-la-point and shoot. - Built in flash - 16-50mm lens - Great battery life Cons: - No touch screen I would recommend this to those who are looking for convenience plus DSLR level shooting. Good entry level camera. Better if you can get a deal on it...

  • Great starter compact camera

A great purchase for those who are looking to upgrade from a Point and Shoot to something with more flexibility and additional options. The retracting 16-50mm lens makes it really easy to store the camera when not using it and big points for excellent battery life. Would be nice if it had a mode dial but is manageable without.

  • not recommend this

Pros - 16-50mm lens - Price - smaller than dslr, so it is a plus here Cons: - Absense of mode dial - NO WIFI and GPS- Hey Sony seriously? - Lack of controls - Hand grip is slippery - No IR for remote shutter release - LCD screen has only 400k dots - The camera feels fragile and can break if dropped from waist - Cannot tilt the LCD screen down for overhead shots - Battery life is short - Still quite heavy for its small size I find more cons on this camera. I would not recommend this camera
