  • Nice Lens

Compared this one to Nikon's version, it holds up quite well considering the price. The Nikon IS sharper, and the "bokeh" is better, but what do you expect for nearly twice the price! The AF is fast and consistent. The Sigma is actually a bit wider (more like 21-65) which works out to be better on a DX body (my opinion of course, YMMV!!) Have used it on DX and FX, seems to be a TAD better on the cropped sensor. 82mm filter size. Heavy, solid build.

  • The " Go Anywhere" Lense

  • July 03, 2012
  • By: Mark Miatello, Pickering, ONT

Remarkably rugged. After decades this is closest I?ve come to having a ?take it anywhere ? lens good for portraits and landscape shots; daytime, dusk all without a flash. This fast F2.8 aperture is maintained throughout the entire zoom range which you just don?t see in entry level gear anymore. Mounted on a new Nikon 3200 DSLR I found this lens has an effective range of 36 mm ? 105 mm. This Sigma EX class prime lens is professional grade for me and worth the premium. Negotiate hard with your retailer. Works beautifully with the Nikon 3200. Mark Miatello, Pickering, Ont.

  • Works exactly as it should

This lens is definitely the affordable option to the manufacturer's 24-70mm. It produces adequately sharp images in all types of light. I'm impressed with the image quality. The lens itself is huge and heavy. The 82mm filter size means that you'd better save up your pennies if you want a dedicated polarizer. I'm glad that I opted for the Sigma once again.
