I have used several SLR's both film & digital & several "point & shoots"over the years. After using the DMC-FZ200 for several weeks both indoors & out in all conditions I can honestly say I am extremely pleased with it. The speed of the camera & the crispness of the images in all lighting conditions has to be seen to be believed. I would not hesitate to recommend this camera to any one.

  • Awesome Camera

I bought the Panasonic DMC Fz200 a few weeks ago to replace a Nikon D80 DSLR camera that suddenly stopped working. What an awesome camera. The camera is simple to use, has lots of choices to customize to your preferences, a fantastic zoom and the pictures are crisp and clear. A cross between a point and shoot and a DSLR of both worlds. I am very happy with this camera and would highly recommend it to anyone who is in the market for a new one

  • I like it.

I used a Canon SX20IS for the past five years and if it hadn't died due to a mishap, I probably would not have bought this camera simply as an upgrade. I was comfortable with the Canon. As it is, I needed to replace the camera and I figured there were some additional features that I could make use of. The f2.8 at all focal lengths was what originally sold me. The Leica lens added to it. What I didn't realize was how much of an improvement the Leica lens made. I accepted the minor barrel distortion at full wide angle with the Canon, but I didn't expect the Leica with a wider angle to have corrected it completely. I thought I was seeing things when I saw no distortion of the horizon whatsoever. The images are crisp and bright. I'm still getting used to the camera. I don't usually use the automatic settings as I didn't with the Canon either. Eventually I'll use the video, but I like what I've seen so far. I liked the Canon, but this is a bit better.

Originally I was hesitant to spend this kind of money on a p & s camera but the FZ200 has more than lived up to the hype. I couldn't be happier with the purchase. It does everything exceedingly well. Sure there are probably better cameras out there with dozens of lenses to cart around but if you want an exceptional camera without the hassle, this is it! Btw, I just came home tonight after shooting 1633 photos (yes, really!)and the battery is still's rated for 450 shots. Buy and enjoy!

  • DMC FZ 200 Lumix

Very pleased with this camera, definitely not a pro with a camera but the ease of use with this camera and quality of pictures and video makes you feel a little like a pro. Great features and excellent low light capabilities. Zoom is also higher quality then other point and shoot in the same category. If your looking for a good camera to start with before going in to a DSLR this camera is a good choice.

  • Amazing camera

First, excuse me for my bad English. I own several cameras 2 medium format, one digital Leica and D-Nikon but i need a lightweight cam without the hassle of multiple lens in my bag in fishing or hunting trip. Since i buy this cam (2013-08)i have tried in all condition possible and i love this Lumix for f2,8 constant aperture amazing in low light without flash, for the crispness of the Leica 25-600mm lens, the full HD video 240 fps slow motion video.(I can see Hummingbird wings in fly with the 240fps HD video) I continue to use my other cameras in specials situations like assignments or studio but when i need long telephoto like for birds and animal pics, i am happy to own the Lumix FZ200. Like Doug, I would not hesitate to recommend this camera to any one.
