This is a large aperture prime lens with a standard focal length of 50mm, ideal for all digital SLR cameras. This lens has superior peripheral brightness even at the maximum aperture and corrects a possible sagittal coma flare.
The Sigma 50 f1.4 EX DG HSM is a very sharp lens. Well built and feels perfect on a Canon 5DmkII. Results could be enlarged on the computer screen and they were still sharp. I would highly recommend this lens to anyone wanting better results then with the Canon f1.4 but not wanting to spent the bucks on the Canon f1.2

If you are looking for spending less for 50mm lens, get Canon 50mm f1.8 IIOtherwise I suggest u to get the Sigma 50mm f1.4 . I tried Canon 50mm f1.4 , f1.2L and the sigma one b4. The sigma 50mm f1.4 is very sharp even at wide open. Pics quiality is very close to 50mm f1.2L lens but you can get it for less than half price. Also it just $100 more than the Canon 50mm f1.4 lens but much more better quiality !! OF course the Canon lens have faster AF as people said. ( Acutally I dont feel that much difference. Just wonder can u feel 0.2-0.5 sec faster ? For me is just the number. )
