This is a great second lens for anyone with a Sony NEX camera body. It's smaller and lighter than the kit lens, less expensive, with a larger aperture, and it's noticeably sharper. The corner softness that's so noticeable with the kit lens hasn't been an issue with this one. The only fault I can find with it is the plastic construction (compared to the metal of the kit lens), but this is rarely noticeable.
