  • Freaking Amazing!

  • August 16, 2013
  • By: Steven

I use this for producing video and I have to say, this camera changed the way I do my job. I now love shooting in low light situations! I can't say enough about it really - however, even though the lens has a built in stabilizer, if you're shooting video you will need a proper rig and possibly a Zoom to record audio. Make sure you have a good SD card and focus more on write speed then on capacity. I use 32 GB SanDisk Extreme Pro with a speed of 95MB/s and have never had a problem. You can also us a CF card but don't go lower then 400x.

  • Best. Camera. Ever!

  • June 08, 2013

I just picked up this bad boy three weeks ago and I have to say it is the holy grail of cameras.....simply amazing!! I'm upgrading from the Rebel T3i (which was still a solid shooter for the price). The features of this camera are simply overwhelming...I am going to enjoy learning the ins and outs of every spec and button on this guy and look forward to taking some amazing footage. My main reason for this purchase was for shooting video...I spent the better part of a year researching various models of video cameras before hearing the awesomeness of the Mark II, but when the MARK III was released I began saving my pennies and finally took the plunge. The only drawback for this camera is the extremely high price tag and after months of price research, Henry's was the cheapest place I found....all in all the camera cost me around $5000.00. This included the Camera and lens combo, along with a CF card and lens filter and the Henrys Warranty. Normally, I stay away from all warranties of any kind, but in this case it is totally worth it....You wouldn't drive a car without insurance, this is no different. extending the coverage from 1 year to 4 is amazing. Meaning I'll be fully covered from now until I'm ready to purchase the mark IV (if it merits the upgrade). If can drop the cash on this beast of a machine, I say do it without hesitation....Every penny you spend on this camera is a penny well spent (granted thats 500,000 pennies, but this camera!) THINK OF THE CHILDREN!!!

  • Solid performer

  • November 20, 2012
  • By: Joe

By this point in time, most anyone knows that Canon has produced a great camera with the 5D3. Pros are the AF, high iso performance, great lcd and generally I've always been happy with the ergonomics and usability of Canons but this one is even better. Having used and still owning a 7D, this camera was easy to use as it's pretty much just a 7D on steroids. Controls and menus are so similar that it took no getting used to. I'm sorry but I'm racking my brains for a "con", but I can't think of one. Maybe if the HDR mode would save as a single raw instead of jpeg, that would be nice.

  • Awesome

I stepped up from the 7D. While a few features I miss from the 7D the image quality and low light ability of this Mark III are awesome. The transition was very easy since so many functions and menus are very similar. White balance and colour rendering are spot on. The 7D has become my back up as it is still a great performing unit. Canon keeps my enthusiasm for photography strong.

  • Perfection

As close to perfect as it gets and we all know that nothing in the camera world is or will ever be perfect - nothing! Has the Stealth Fighter is to aviation, the MK III is to photography. If you have the cash, the Mark III is a must have.
