perfect companion for the X-Pro1
April 17, 2014
If you like the optical finder of the X-Pro1, then this may be a good choice for you as it was for me. I wear glasses and seeing outside of the finder lines is more difficult for the wider lenses. With the 52mm view, you get a narrowed crop, but you also get beautiful bokeh, especially wide open.
It's much lighter than the 23mm (also an f/1.4), which means I am more likely to go out the door with it on the camera. Like the 18mm, the cap that fits over the lens hood is a PITA. On both this lens and the 18mm, I bought a good quality UV filter and leave the original hood on at all time; I have no idea where the cap has gone (thankfully). If you like the retro-styled vented hoods, you can get them for a few dollars from HK, but I prefer the original hood.
