  • Must have magic inside

  • April 18, 2016
  • By: Yavuz

Not the quickest to grab focus, not the most quite lens either but oh boy, when you get your image you will see the magic. Crazy sharp all around and just a joy to use. I chose this instead of the f2 version because I wanted to have the extra stops. If you shoot indoors or low light this is a must have lens for your fuji. Consider f2 version only if you need fast focus and weather resistance. Considering the cost, this lens is simply stunning.

  • Best all rounder

This prime lens with the widest aperture opening, produces crystal clear images even in low light conditions. No need for a flash to scar the pictures, it creates natural looking images. Another advantage of this bright lens is, at its widest 1.4 aperture opening, it creates a shallow depth of field rendering a beautiful booked in the background. Your subject literally pops with life. Basically you need just this lens to start your photographic journey.

  • perfect companion for the X-Pro1

  • April 17, 2014
  • By: Blair

If you like the optical finder of the X-Pro1, then this may be a good choice for you as it was for me. I wear glasses and seeing outside of the finder lines is more difficult for the wider lenses. With the 52mm view, you get a narrowed crop, but you also get beautiful bokeh, especially wide open. It's much lighter than the 23mm (also an f/1.4), which means I am more likely to go out the door with it on the camera. Like the 18mm, the cap that fits over the lens hood is a PITA. On both this lens and the 18mm, I bought a good quality UV filter and leave the original hood on at all time; I have no idea where the cap has gone (thankfully). If you like the retro-styled vented hoods, you can get them for a few dollars from HK, but I prefer the original hood.
