Fuji X-Pro1 winner of 2012 TIPA Award for Best Compact System Camera Professional
  • 16.3 MP Digital Camera
  • Hybrid Multi Viewfinder
  • Approx. 0.5 sec. Start Up
  • 3.0 inch LCD
  • Top and base are made from die-cast aluminum alloy
  • APS-C X-Trans CMOS Sensor:
  • By enhancing aperiodicity (randomness) in the array arrangement, the colour filter minimizes generation of both moire and false colours, eliminating the need for an optical low-pass filter in the lens and enabling X-Trans CMOS sensor to capture full "unfiltered" lens performance
  • The EXR Processor Pro is supported by an integrated co-processor for higher speed and higher precision image processing performance
  • X Mount:
  • Taking full advantage of the mirrorless design, the mount boasts a short 17.7mm flange back distance, a wider opening and deeper mounting of the lens, resulting in reduction of back focus distance to the minimum possible while achieving high resolution extending to the image edge areas
  • When a FUJINON XF lens is mounted, all lens information is instantly communicated to the body
  • Hybrid Multi Viewfinder:
  • Freedom to switch between an optical and electronic viewfinder
  • When an XF series lens is mounted, lens data is communicated to the X-Pro1, and viewfinder magnification (2 types) and frame size (multiple steps) are automatically switched
  • Colour Expression with Film Simulation - Just Like Choosing the Ideal Photo Film:
  • Reproduce the Look & Feel of Photo Film with Film Simulation Mode
  • Just like choosing the perfect film to match your creative direction, the X-Pro1 can simulate the colour and tonal qualities of acclaimed film brands
  • Choose the true-to-scene natural look of PROVIA, the vibrant tonality and saturated colours of Velvia and the silky soft look and beautiful skin tones of ASTIA
  • Film Simulation mode makes it simple to capture the expressive colour quality created through the rich legacy of Fujifilm photo film technology
  • Enhance Monochrome Expression with Colour Filters
  • Replicating the effects of monochrome film photography, the Fujifilm X-Pro1 lets you use colour filters to expand your photographic expression
  • Heighten contrast with the Ye filter and R filter. Brighten greens and deepen reds with the G filter
  • Just as pro film photographers once selected a filter and printing paper to complement their creative vision, you can easily tune your image quality with filters
  • You can also transform your subject with the warm nostalgic tones of Sepia mode
  • Add a New Dimension to Photographic Expression with Multiplex Exposure:
  • In film cameras, multiplex exposure is the unique photographic technique of superimposing one image on another by double exposing a single frame of film
  • Through advanced digital processing, X-Pro1 can simulate this technique, expanding your creative expression
  • Just select Multiplex Exposure mode and take your first shot using either OVF or EVF
  • While viewing it on the LCD screen, you can frame and shoot the second exposure
  • This ability to precisely position and focus the second shot lets you not only "see" how the finished Multiplex Exposure image will look, but also explore other creative photographic possibilities
  • Powerful Auto Bracketing Functions:
  • Experience a variety of photographic expressions with a choice of 4 different auto bracketing functions (AE, ISO Sensitivity, Dynamic Range and Film Simulation)
  • AE Bracketing
  • One press of the shutter captures 3 shots of the same scene at different exposures
  • AE bracketing can be set in 1/3, 2/3 and 1 EV steps
  • ISO Sensitivity Bracketing
  • Based on a single exposure, this bracketing function automatically reproduces the scene as 3 images, each with a different ISO sensitivity and without changing the shutter speed and aperture, letting you capture the moment with varying degrees of brightness
  • Setting is possible in 1/3, 2/3 and 1 EV steps
  • Dynamic Range Bracketing
  • Press the shutter once and high-speed continuous shooting captures 3 exposures of the same scene, each at a different dynamic range setting (100%, 200% & 400%)
  • Film Simulation Bracketing
  • Just release the shutter once and produce 3 images of the scene based on a single exposure, each image with a different Film Simulation effect that you have freely selected and pre-set
  • High Performance LCD Monitor:
  • Approx. 1,230,000 Dots of High Resolution and a Special Coating with Surface Reflectivity Under 0.2%
  • Boasting a special anti-reflective coating (surface reflectivity of under 0.2%), the superior LCD is highly water repellent and features a stain-resistant acrylic film and superb anti-glare performance
  • The X-Pro1 makes it easy to compose and confirm your shots even in bright sunlight
  • Q (Quick Menu) Button for Fast Shooting Menu Settings
  • Skip directly to frequently used shooting menus with the Q (Quick Menu) button
  • ISO sensitivity setting, White Balance, Film Simulation and other frequently used shooting settings are displayed in a list
  • Just use the 4-way controller to select the item and the command dial to change settings for speedy operation while shooting
  • Swift Menu Page Selection and Scroll-free Navigation Within Each Page
  • In the Shooting and Playback menu, functions are organized into tabbed single-page screens for fast selection and setting
  • Just select a tab and find the item in the displayed list without scrolling
  • Shooting menu (5 pages)
  • Set-Up menu (3 pages)
  • PlayBack menu (2 pages)
  • Set-Up menu (3 pages)
  • In-camera RAW Converter:
  • The built-in RAW data converter lets you view results in the field without first transferring the data to a PC
  • This easy-to-use feature not only takes into account exposure compensation, white balance and other in-camera image quality settings, but also lets you apply Film Simulation modes in the converter mode
  • Focusing:
  • Selectable AF with a 49-point Metering Matrix
  • Within the screen, the auto focus area is divided into a 49-point matrix (25 points in the case of OVF)
  • AF accurately and swiftly recognizes the primary subject and brings it into crystal clear focus, and also lets you freely select the position of the AF frame
  • When using the EVF and LCD, you can also change the AF frame size and pinpoint the focusing
  • 0.05-sec Shutter Time Lag Even Shooting with the EVF
  • Even in Live View, shutter time lag is only 0.05 sec so you can capture that exact instant without missing an important shot
  • High-speed Auto Focus Achieved by Lens-Sensor Synergy
  • XF lens focusing is driven by a fast "DC coreless motor"
  • Accelerated by the combination of the high-speed signal readout of the X-Trans CMOS sensor and the EXR Processor, the improved contrast detection AF in X-Pro1 makes a huge leap in speed and precision, bringing your subject in to sharp focus in as little as 0.1 sec
  • 2 Manual Focusing Methods
  • In the viewfinder, the distance index bar is displayed together with the depth of field scale and aperture value, providing helpful guides for focusing
  • You can also adjust focus by rotating the focus ring while checking the image in Live View and using the one-touch Focus Point Zoom to confirm a sharp focus
  • AF Assist Lamp for Low-Light Scenes
  • In low-light settings where even the subject is hard to see through the viewfinder, the AF Assist Lamp illuminates the subject and assists Auto Focus
  • White Balance Setting:
  • Colour Temperature (Kelvin Value) Setting
  • Compensate for the colour of different light sources with a choice of 9 white balance presets in addition to Auto White Balance
  • You can also make custom white balance settings using a gray card or other surface, or select the optimum colour temperature (Kelvin value)
  • Precise White Balance Setting
  • Fine tune white balance by adjusting R (red) to Cy (cyan) and B (blue) to Ye (yellow) in +-9 steps while viewing the through-the-lens image
  • You can make adjustments and confirm their effect on the actual image while shooting
  • It is ideal for precise correction of white balance or exploration of the creative effects that can be achieved with filters
  • ISO100-25600 Sensitivity Setting Range:
  • Expand the normal sensitivity range of ISO200-6400 to ISO100-12800 or even ISO25600
  • By assigning this setting to the Fn button, extended sensitivity is available at the touch of a button

  • Even when enlarged to an A3-size print, there is virtually no loss of resolution
  • Holding the camera horizontally or vertically or horizontally, Motion Panorama lets you shoot the scene with an "S" or "L" angle of view
  • HD Movie:
  • Capture the action in Full HD movies (1920 x 1080, 24fps, max. clip length: 29 minutes)
  • In addition to full AUTO exposure, you can also shoot with aperture priority AE
  • Taking full advantage of the bright XF lenses, you can capture movies with a beautiful defocused "bokeh" background
  • Later with plug-and-play ease, you can connect X-Pro1 directly to your TV with a commercially available HDMI cable and share your movies complete with stereo audio on the big screen
  • Power Control System:
  • Power Save Mode for Up to 1,000 Shots on a Full Charge
  • Turn this mode on when using the optical viewfinder, and the power saving system is activated, tripling the maximum number of images per full charge from approx. 300 images in normal operation to about 1,000 images
  • It is ideal for stretching your battery capacity and getting a few more valuable shots out of your charge
  • (When Quick Start Mode is OFF)
  • Quick Start Mode
  • After turning OFF the power, the X-Pro1 enters a "sleep" status for a maximum of 24 minutes

  • Awesome!!!

  • March 29, 2012
  • By: Christopher

I wanted to really give feedback on ordering from the US. I ordered on Monday afternoon (3/26), it shipped on Tuesday morning (the web said it ships in 24-48 hours) and I received it in the United States on Thursday morning. I'm still getting to know the camera (and charging the battery), but it seems awesome. Performance at ISO 6400 is crazy good.

  • the new Fuji

The X-Pro 1 is a very comfortable camera. It is the right size, and the weight of it is perfect for the hand. Unlike some reviewers who say it isn't quick enough on focus, I haven't found that yet. It seems to respond well. I grew up with old film cameras where you focused manually and you pressed a shutter button. This is faster. And it is the perfect street camera. I favour exposure compensation and the dial on the top is perfectly placed to access. Of course, having the f-stops on the lens is where it should be. This is not a camera for everyone ? it probably would not be good for sports for example. It is for the person who thinks about each photograph, who wants to respond in the street to that lure of a good image.

  • If You're After Image Quality -- this is it

  • June 28, 2012
  • By: SM

If you're after stunning image quality, this is it. Does it have a zoom? Nope. Is it easy to use -- not really. But once you learn how to use it to its potential, it is an amazing piece of kit that is probably the best camera I've ever owned (and I've had a lot). Smaller than a DSLR, and not as rapidly quick, it slow you down just enough to think more about what your shooting, as opposed to just shooting. Because the lenses are all primes, it slows you down, and you need to zoom with your feet. If you're looking for a rapid fire, quick auto-focus camera this probably isn't your ride. But if you're looking to produce thoughtful amazing images, straight out of the camera, and are skilled enough, and prepared to learn how to use it well, it will reward you in spades.
