• Great tripod!

I was looking for something a little more than my "beginner" tripod that wouldn't cost an arm and a leg, and I found it with this one. I love the centre column that extends in all directions. Opens it up to so many options and creative opportunities. The legs extend in independent angles as well. The ball head is the smaller one, but perfect for my Canon Rebel T2i and my heaviest lens. There's a secure feature to keep the camera locked on. Everything is secure, sturdy and solid and easy to set up. It comes with a pouch to weigh it down if it's windy, and a carrying bag. The top part of the legs are covered with a nice foam grip - great for cold weather. I felt like I was getting a lot for the price and would definitely recommend it.

• Great tripod for a great price.

Ordered this combo about a month ago and am very pleased with it. The whole thing feels tight and when it is locked down, nothing moves...even a mm. The multi-angle center column has come in very handy for macro work. I have not given it a five star rating because when you are using the multi-angle center column, there is some movement when you tighten it. In other words, your composition will change. when not using the center column and it is down and locked into place...there is no movement at all. The ballhead, although Vanguards smallest, has proved to be more than adequate even with my hefty 70-200 f2.8 attatched. A nice touch is you get two base plates. I attatched one to my body and one to the foot of my 70-200. Final word; I doubt if you will find this quality and this versatility anywhere else for this price. A great buy. One caveat...it is heavy, though far I have not found it to be unbearable.
