• Portable and Durable, Great for Travel

I have had this tripod for about 6 months now, and in this time I have primarily used it for family events and small outings. It's rugged construction makes it a great addition to any outing. I don't have to worry about corrosion or drop-induced damage when I go out shooting, which is great! No one wants to miss out on a great shot because you are worrying about your equipment. The main reason I purchased this tripod over others was its portability. It is very light and compact, which makes it very convenient for travel and day-to-day lugging about. Recently, I took a trip to Prince Edward Island, and the compact nature of this tripod allowed me to easily make it a part of my carry-on. It stood up well to the salt waters of the Atlantic ocean and the Northumberland Strait, allowing me to get a little wet when getting into the right position for some beautiful landscape shots. There is also a similar model of this tripod from Manfrotto that has just the photo-head; I chose the pistol grip because I thought it would make positioning easier when setting up shots. This is true, although when you switch from video to photo use, you have to turn a small knob. Not really I big deal, but I like to keep my tripod in video position when I put it away, so I sometimes forget about this when I first try to set up for a shot. Having said this, I have also had the opportunity to do some video recording at a wedding recently, and the video feature worked wonderfully for this. Overall, I would DEFINITELY RECOMMEND this tripod!! It has the right combination of compactness and ruggedness. Not to mention the great price! If you are interested in shooting family events, recording video, or shooting travel photography, this is the tripod for you! You wont hesitate to pick this tripod up on your way out the door; after all, there is no point spending money on a tripod that is too bulky to carry around with you.
