amazing lens for landscape, scenery; close-ups (!!!) excellent construction and first-rate sharpness and color saturation, its an L series, and it shows. I forgot to mention the almost limitless special effects possibilities.

This is a super flexible lens and works on both full frame and crop sensor cameras. Crop sensors always see full coverage regardless of focal length but full frame cameras will see a circular fisheye image when zoomed out to 8mm. Fisheyes have a natural distortion but cheap fisheyes still look like crap. This one is awesome!
