  • A Good Choice

Because I am a beginner in the world of DSLR cameras, every purchase you make is stressful. my first DSLR was a nikon D3000, with a 18-55 mm lens. I did not have any complaints in my purchase and used it for about one year. I liked to do close up photography and photographs of animals. When I used the lens for wildlife I took good pictures but felt that the camera was not helping me to the best of my ability, taking me to Henry's. I knew that i would not want to go over 200-300mm lenses because after that pictures get blurry. I saw many lenses that where 200mm witch was good, but most of them did not have the VR (Vibration Reduction) option. Another set bask was that the mount was plastic and that makes the lens unstirty. After looking through my choices I found a 200mm lens that I was quite fond of so I went to Henry's sure I would buy a Lens after seeing the lens and trying it out I found and was told about a few problems with it. Then I was told to try this lens which had VR and metal mount. very impressed with it I bought it on the spot and started using it. I live in toronto where there are many places that wildlife where so i took the camera to a place called Brick Works. Brick Works is known for the red winged black birds so I went hoping to get some good shots with my lens. taking it there was very exiting having the ability to use such a powerful lens. After 3 hours of continuos shooting I took my camera home to see how they had turned out on my computer. All i can say was i was amazed my the clarity at such far distances also how much the VR affected my stabilization. I am very proud of my purchase and recommend it to anyone who is looking to use a higher zoom lens

I just traded in my 55-200VR for this 55-300VRII and I'm very pleased with it after giving it a good workout. Build quality is first rate. The VRII allows for great hand held shots even at 300mm. It's the perfect companion for my 18-55VR. Kudos Nikon!
