After recently purchasing this tripod combo, I was eager to test it out. I was pleasantly surprised at the sturdiness of it without a support part way down the legs. The locking shoulders, although not quite as sturdy(in my opinion), do the trick. The 701HDV video head provides smooth pan and tilt movements as long as you don't overload it with gear. All in all, it does the job for a great price.

A great video tripod. I have been using it as our b-camera tripod (shooting on 5D MKii) and it's been great, on both corporate shoots and short films. As long as you don't overload your rig with too many accessories the tilt and pan are incredible smooth. Perfect for run and gun video and photo shoots.
