  • A well made and sturdy featherlight!

It's actually better than I expected. Quite a bit stiffer and less wobbly than other light/small tripods I've tried. The QR (Quick Release) Ballhead mates perfectly with my existing QR plates and (more importantly) with the Camdapter wrist-strap gizmo on my camera. The legs are stiff and the splay angle is adjustable in the Manfrotto tradition, and the centre stem can be reversed (upside-down) to get Really Close to flowers. The advertised weight for the tripod+QR-Ballhead is bang on, at about 2.8lbs on the kitchen scale. The folded-up length is longer than advertised though, about 18.75" long (compared with 17" in the specs). Slightly too long for my favoured day pack, but short enough for carry-on luggage. And it'll strap to my camera bag just fine. The QR-Ballhead is not intended to be interchangeable, or even removable, but it can be removed with the Right Tools (just tried it here, successfully). Very pleased with it. Perfect for hiking and travel!
