I recently purchased the Beachtek DXA-5DA Passive DSLR Adapter and have been very pleased with its performance. Not only does it allow you to connect professional mics to it and give some control over the audio signal going into your DSLR camera, but it gives you the ability to monitor the audio through a pair of headphones. In addition, it can disable your camera's pesky AGC (automatic gain control) which is very useful to those who's camera does not have that particular firmware update available. Great investment if you are shooting video with a DSLR.
