An amazing camera

This camera has an incredible array of advanced features; great 19 point focusing ability, incredible low noise/high ISO sensitivity, 2 speeds of continuous shootin mode. 18MP means it has plenty of size & detail for futher cropping to close in on the subject.
The EF-S 15-85mm f/3.5-5.6 USM IS lens is a very good match up for this camera; The APS-C sensor's 1.6X crop means the lens covers 24mm-136mm. The zoom action is smooth, autofocus is fast, accurate & the USM almost silent.
The other kit lens, the EF-S 18-135MM 3.5-5.6 IS, though longer in it's zoom, is shorter on the wide-angle side. Unfortunately, the way an APS-C camera's crop factor works, it always has the wide-angle end under it's magnification gun.
This is a good basic package with an excellent body & good choice in starting lens.

Worth the wait!

It took roughly 2 Years, countless hours drooling over different DSLR's, and lots of saving up until I finally brought home my Canon 7D w/ 15mm-85mm lens. Right off the bat, its one of, if not the best purchase I've ever made. Up until now the only camera I have really had was a Canon Powershot from 2005. Great little camera, but I wanted an upgrade, a camera that could really help bring to life the way I saw my world. The 7D has done this and more. The ability to shoot purely in RAW and edit as much as possible is fantastic. With all the focal points to use and choose from it really helps bring the viewer's exactly to what I wanted. I could go on and on about the amazing features of this camera, but the real deciding factor for me buying was the top quality of Canon, and the strong magnesium alloy body with weather sealing. I am a Firefighter and involved in Competitive Sprint Canoe. With water flying around, rain, and general moisture and dirt in the air, it was a no braining. The lens is a beautiful mid range zoom lens with crystal clear clarity. Josh Szeto from the Dartmouth Crossing Henry's sold me this camera and was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. I had a number of talks with him about the camera before purchasing and even went as far as setting my focal points for me when I purchased it. If you are looking for a strong, durable, quality camera, get the Canon 7D. It was a big purchase but worth every penny for it. Thank you Henry's, Josh, and Canon! Now off to take more pictures!!
