  • Great Entry Level Macro

I've only had this lens for a few days, but so far I'm really pleased with it. There is no image stabilization, but I'm using it for macro, which means I'm putting it on a tripod. The auto focus can be a bit noisy, and it can sometimes hunt. There is a switch that limits the AF from a range of about 11-14 inches, which helps. It's also really easy to switch between manual and autofocus, so I find I can get the focus almost right in manual and then quickly switch over to the auto to tidy it up for me. I had been using close up filters before getting this lens, but the lens is easier to use and I'm finding I get sharper results with more DOF. This is a good option for someone looking for an affordable macro in this focal length range.
