  • For The Price... I guess.

Bought this lens on a cross-Canada trip from BC through to Winnipeg. I'd just switched to m4/3 from Canon DSLR's, and I'd wanted a decent tele that wouldn't break the bank. It is decent I suppose. It's not as sharp as I'd like, but it does the trick. Anything after about 160mm softens quite a bit. From 45 through 160 though, I can't really complain. I don't shoot action shots (a lot of us m4/3 shooters don't... yet) so this lens fits some of my needs. But given the opportunity to spend my money again, I'd probably wait. Pros... Well I guess the price. It's OIS is a bonus. It's faily quick to focus. Cons... Well to me the zoom is fairly loose. If pointed downwards, it's extending without hesitation. A zoom lock switch would have been nice, but again this is a somewhat budget priced lens so you have to take the good with the bad.
