  • Super Lens

  • February 10, 2010
  • By: Gary

This is a super lens that can do the job of multiple lenses ... I have an 18-70mm and an 70-300mm both of which I've put away since getting the 18-200mm with VR. The quality of the images are excellent and razor sharp. It is worth the extra money to get this ... slightly below $1,000 but hey look what it can do!

  • Greatest lens

  • February 22, 2017
  • By: Richard

This lens is great. I bought the first version 8 years ago but it suffered damage so I bought the new version. I use the lens for over 90% of my photos. Attached to my Nikon 7100, it provides a compact outfit capable of wide angle to moderate telephoto. Great for air travel. The best thing is the lens quality. Shooting at ISO400 in daylight, I can easily take razor sharp photos which I can print at 13 by 18 in. The quality is far better than the 18-135 lens I have and better at 200 mm than a non-Nikkor telephoto. All things considered this lens is a bargain. Note that the VR 11 has a lock on the lens which stops it sliding open to 200 mm if you are carrying it over your shoulder.

  • Great muti-purpose lens

  • February 16, 2012
  • By: George

I have sold most of my lenses since I bought this versatile lens with the exepton of a few prime lenses that I still use. Great range from wide angle, standard and zoom. All ranges are sharp with fast focus capabilities. I even do some simple macro work with it. The VR works wonders for those shots that I take while fully racked at less then ideal lighting situations. This lens is for keeps.

  • A Great Friend While Travelling

  • December 31, 2011
  • By: Jim

This lens is just the ultimate all purpose work horse. My lovely wife Colleen and I love to travel. I have found this lens to be perfect for walking about and taking photos while still being able to enjoy the experience. It's fast, smooth and quiet. Greatly reduces the need to carry around multiple lenses while taking in the sights. 5 out of 5 for me. By far, my favorite "EVERYDAY" lens. A true bargain at twice the price.

  • Excellent multi-purpose lens

  • December 04, 2011

I'm using this with my D7000 and I haven't found much it can't do well. I have it on the camera all the time. I carry around a 50mm f/1.8 prime still, but I find I rarely use it much any more, except for portraits and close-up shots.

  • Great lens

  • June 22, 2011
  • By: John

I have a D3000 and originally had the 18-55 as well as the 55-200 lenses. I purchased this lens for travelling as I would have the same range covered without having to carry two lenses and switch back and forth. The picture quality with this is excellent and the lens feels very well made.

  • Great Lens

  • August 18, 2011
  • By: Connie

I have had this lens for 3 years now and it is a wonderful all-purpose lens. I only need to take my camera and this one lens when travelling. It is the lens that is on my camera 90% of the time. Photos come out crisp and clear. The only thing that I don't like about this lens is that it sucks dust in between the glass (bellows effect) and, other than sending it in to be cleaned, I cannot get the dust out. Spots can be removed when editing on the computer.
