I recently purchased this lens for my Nikon D5100 and it works awesome. The zoom is great and the focus make the image really clear! A little strange for me to have the focus adjuster in the front rather than back, but that's just me and it's not a bother. Nice grip, very light (lighter than my 18mm-55mm actually!). Very easy to use.

I recently purchased this as my second lens for my Nikon D40. I originally purchased the camera with the 18-55 lens. I had no real photography background so I started with this basic DSLR. After using my camera for 2 years and taking some great pictures, I added this lens to my bag. I LOVE IT! I took some fabulous pictures of my girls tubing at the cottage this summer. I was able to get upclose shots of their faces from the back of our boat and from the dock. I promise, this lens will not disappoint. Well worth the money. It is also very easy to change from one lens to another. Still a beginner package, but allos you to take quality pictures.
